Sonia is the CEO of 16th Street Equity Group, with over 20 years of experience in developing and managing more than $200 million in real estate projects. Mentored by Herman J. Russell, Sr., she specializes in construction, development, and building exit strategies. Sonia has successfully launched and maintained multiple businesses, including Studio House Atlanta, and has invested in women-led startups. She has served on numerous boards, including the YWCA Greater Atlanta and as the first black female chair of the East Point Georgia Downtown Development Authority. Sonia is a recognized author and media personality, featured in publications like O, The Oprah Magazine, and holds degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Dallas. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her son, Simon.

Stacey Tisdale, On-Air Journalist & CEO, Mind, Media, & Money Inc.

Stacey Tisdale, award-winning financial journalist and author, was the first woman and African-American to report from the New York Stock Exchange for Wall Street Journal Television. Over her 20-year career, she has reported for CBS, CNN, PBS, the Today Show, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Stacey authored the acclaimed book The True Cost of Happiness and the $afe Spaces with Stacey Tisdale Money Mindset Journal, pioneering work in behavioral finance and financial psychology. As CEO of Mind Money Media Inc., she educates audiences on the complexities of money and its intersection with socioeconomics, gender, race, and culture. Stacey created financial education programs for the NFL’s New York Giants, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, and Microsoft’s female employees. She also co-hosts and executive produces Wealth Wednesdays on iHeartMedia’s Way Up With Angela Yee.

Sheena is a 2012 graduate of the PLACES program and now serves as its Advisory Board Chair. Passionate about racial justice, equity, and inclusion, she also serves on various local and national boards. James holds a background in Hotel and Restaurant Management from SUNY Morrisville and a Family Development Credential from the University of Connecticut. Owens leads initiatives under the Ben Walsh Administration, focusing on reducing gun violence, promoting diversity and inclusion, and supporting MWBE, DBE, and SDVOB firms. She has been pivotal in police reform and previously served as CEO of Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. Owens has extensive nonprofit experience and serves as Board President of Blueprint 15. She has received numerous awards for her community service and is proud of her roles as a wife and mother. Me’Shae is a franchise Owner/Operator of EventPrep and executive director emerita of The Upstate Minority Economic Alliance (UMEA). Me’Shae serves on the following boards of directors and contributes philanthropically to the Syracuse community: Onondaga Community College Foundation, M&T Bank CNY Regional Advisory Board, Central New York Community Foundation Black Excellence & Equity Fund, CenterState CEO, OnPoint for College, The Salvation Army, and the Small Business Development Center Regional Advisory Board. She is the producer of the regional financial empowerment summit occurring during financial literacy month in April 2025.
